What you'll do as a Septic Truck Operator: Pump, service, & inspect residential and commercial septic systems, disposing of waste in compliance with environmental and regulatory standards. Operate & maintain company trucks by completing pre- and post-trip inspections, performing basic upkeep, and keeping vehicles clean and professional. Interact professionally with customers, answering questions and addressing concerns with respect and clarity. Complete accurate service records, work orders, and waste disposal documentation. Follow safety protocols, wear required PPE, and perform physical tasks. Participate in route planning, training, and assigned on-call rotations, providing dependable phone and email support during on-call weeks. Our Ideal Septic Truck Operator: Experienced: 1-2 years of heavy equipment operation experience required; valid CDL Class B with tanker endorsement, clean driving record, and ability to pass background checks and drug screenings. Septic system and regulatory knowledge preferred. Responsible & Reliable: Owns tasks, arrives on time, follows policies, and works independently without constant supervision. Professional & Customer-focused: Communicates clearly and respectfully with customers, represents the company well, and maintains a clean, professional appearance. Equipment Savvy: Basic mechanical awareness and comfort using GPS or route management tools, with willingness to learn new systems. Safety-minded: Follows safety procedures, wears required PPE, and works carefully around equipment, waste materials, and job sites. Active: Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions, with exposure to odors and chemicals. Team-oriented: Works well with others, respects teammates and leadership, avoids gossip, and remains open to feedback and training.
