About the job As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in working on repair and reconditioning of machines in a Service Centre. You will have the opportunity to perform a variety of duties to disassemble, inspect, repair, measure and assemble products and subassemblies to bring them up to specification standards, contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization. Currently, this is an on-site opportunity located in Greenwood, Indiana.

Requirements

  • You have a High School degree or Equivalent with relevant experience in:
  • Typically, 3 years manual repair/workshop/manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating forklift trucks, hand pallet jacks and overhead cranes
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complicated blueprints, drawings, sketches and work instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to use micrometers and gauges in both English and Metric measures
  • Demonstrated good mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose mechanical problems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of welding
  • Basic computer knowledge (clocking in and out, scanning bar codes)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with vibration analyzing / balancing equipment a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment receipt, uncrate, clean, strip and tear down units.
  • Inspect, repair, service, test and package following the company's policies, procedures, quality standards and Safety guidelines.
  • Works from drawings, parts lists, blueprints, charts, tables and graphs to evaluate and assist in estimating repair costs, time and materials or parts needed to repair assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Set up and operate test stands and related equipment as required.
  • Set up and balance rotating equipment using approved balancing methods as required.
  • Record written test results on appropriate test documents
  • Follow the quality plan per job to repair product
  • Diagnose, check and correct mechanical functions through adjustments, using various tools and approved repair methods.
  • Move material inside shop as needed.
  • Recognize and communicate the need for replenishment of supplies, tools, need repair parts and other facility needs to supervision in a timely manner.
  • Keep work area and surrounding equipment clean and organized.
  • Perform housekeeping as required at the facility to maintain a professional presentation.
  • Paint, pack, crate, and document shipment of units, parts and materials.
  • May be asked to perform some field service work from time to time (not frequent or required).
