About The Position

VisionPoint Marketing is searching for an experienced SEO content strategist who combines strong writing and storytelling with practical SEO execution. As a member of our Digital Experience & Analytics Team, this is a writing-forward role focused primarily on creating, improving, and iterating on high-quality content. You will also support our technical SEO efforts through best-practice audits and on-page optimization, helping ensure content is structured, discoverable, and aligned with AI-ready SEO as search continues to evolve for our higher education clients.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in strategic marketing content, with a specific focus on inbound marketing.
  • A four-year bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business, or a related field of study (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Proven track record in developing, managing, and optimizing digital content for professional websites.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize the needs of diverse audiences into effective content strategies.
  • Proficiency in technical SEO, including keyword research and the execution of on-page optimization strategies such as title tags and meta descriptions.
  • Analytical expertise in interpreting website visitor data (e.g., pageviews, bounce rates, and conversion rates) to drive traffic and conversion growth.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple complex writing assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional command of grammar and the written word, paired with a process-oriented approach and high attention to detail.
  • A proactive commitment to staying current with SEO industry trends, AI-driven tools, and emerging search best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Inbound Content Creation: Create and publish engaging inbound content, including academic program pages, articles, blogs, and other relevant assets, in alignment with SEO best practices.
  • Storytelling & Discovery: Lead discovery sessions, such as stakeholder interviews and focus groups, to identify opportunities for content development.
  • Audience Alignment: Craft engaging content that aligns with identified strategies to reach a variety of audiences and address their specific needs.
  • Emerging Search Optimization: Optimize and "future-proof" content for Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Google’s Search Generative Experience (SGE).
  • Collaborate: Work with internal teams to plan, develop, write, and optimize site content.
  • AI-Ready Content Development: Use AI tools selectively to support research, optimization, and efficiency, with human editorial judgment guiding quality, voice, and accuracy.
  • Quality Assurance & Constant Improvement: Engaged in ongoing iterative improvement of and quality assurance for content strategy process and deliverables.
  • Technical Audits: Conduct technical SEO audits and present to clients prioritized remediation tactics to improve site health and performance.
  • Keyword & On-Page Optimization: Lead keyword research to identify opportunities and ensure all pages have unique titles, meta descriptions, and optimized on-page elements.
  • Performance Reporting: Monitor and report on SEO campaign performance, including pageviews, bounce rates, and conversion rates.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Provide data-driven recommendations based on marketing analytics to address client business and marketing challenges.
  • Information Architecture: Collaborate with the web team to align content strategy with site information architecture and overarching digital strategies.
  • Iterative Improvement: Engage in ongoing quality assurance and iterative improvement of content strategy processes and deliverables.
