The Sentinel Product Line (PL) is an organization within the Medium Range Air Defense Product Line (MRAD PL) within Raytheon containing multiple programs within its portfolio including Sentinel, NASAMS, and HAWK. The MRAD PL is a complex program area executing work across the Raytheon business, through a key partnership with Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace (KDA) and Raytheon Australia. With NASAMS in 12 different countries and Sentinel in 16 countries, the current 5-year strategy is to further expand the global footprint. The Sentinel PL is seeking a highly motivated candidate for the role of Sentinel Program Lead for this Sentinel A3/F1 Product Line. The Sentinel Program Lead is responsible for overall Sentinel programs execution (cost, schedule & technical performance of critical production, development and sustainment programs), growth opportunities, positive financial performance, key customer interface (USG PM STARE, DCMA, ACC, SAM-D, internal NASAMS PMs, etc) while ensuring that all contractual commitments are met/exceeded. This role is responsible for managing all aspect of program execution (including proposals) financial management, customer interface, support for business growth and a collaborative partnership between multiple production sites. This position requires strategic and tactical direction for program execution via multi-functional, geographically dispersed teams and sub-contractors with cross-business teams and suppliers. This position will require ~20% domestic/international travel. This position is an onsite role, located in Fullerton, CA

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Business, Mathematics, or related field
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in engineering, technical, production or program/project management or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
  • EVMS certified with applied experience as an EVMS practitioner, IPT Lead, EV Manager, and/or CAM on a program
  • Experience with IPDS, Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Risk & Opportunity Management
  • Experience developing and reviewing cost proposals, developing proposal review and start-up packages for management review and approval
  • Experience developing and reviewing cost proposals, developing proposal review and start-up packages for management review and approval
  • Existing Secret Security Clearance (DoD)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience balancing technical, cost and schedule on various program types (CPFF, FFP)
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to include, but not limited to, any combination of the following: Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Procurement/Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, Quality Management, Logistics, Data Management (CDRL support) and/or administrative functions
  • PMX Level 4 certified with ability to obtain Level 3 certification within the first year
  • Advanced degree (Engineering, Business, Mathematics or related field)
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex program execution efforts in development, production and/or sustainment programs in the defense industry
  • Experience with program risk and opportunity (R&O) process to include program revenue and profit recognition to minimize risk to the organization
  • Working knowledge of radar operations
  • Strong communication skills and prior experience presenting to customers and senior leadership
  • Export/Import (EX/IM) experience or related experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organization levels, including a matrixed environment
  • Ability to influence and motivate team members and peers
  • Strong Business Acumen skills

Responsibilities

  • P&L responsibility for Sentinel contracts and responsible for meeting contractual commitments including financial (EVMS), technical, and schedule performance of the program
  • Drive tactical execution while providing inputs and implementing near/long term Sentinel growth/strategic objectives
  • Develop, inform and achieve AOP and LRP goals and objectives
  • Serve as the primary interface with multiple internal and external customers to develop and influence program priorities, execution, growth and funding strategies
  • Collaborate with financial planning to ensure top-level master phasing and the integrated master schedules meet program strategies, objectives and milestones
  • Lead the product line EVMS, EAC and risk and opportunity process, in accordance with the specific financial goals and obligations
  • Lead proposal and associated capture and startup activities for development, production and support efforts
  • Lead internal reviews and executive briefings pertaining to program efforts to include Gates, EACs, contract proposals, negotiations and definitization efforts
  • Manage RLPM process for the product line
  • Expected to support domestic and international travel as needed
  • Ensures alignment of human and capital resource requirements to achieve contract(s) performance
  • Ensures MRAD communication flowdown to Sentinel team
  • Chair Sentinel Batting order allocations to support proactive pursuit of schedule alignment with both production PMs and Capture Managers
  • 1st Level of escalation for production issues resolution with MRAD PMs and functional team as required to maintain key schedule and cost impacts
  • Accountable for overall production performance as well as R&O profile of Sentinel scope
