The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining z/OS database management systems, specifically in DB2 and IMS/DB. This role plays a critical part in optimizing our mainframe platform's performance and security while collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and lead database management projects to enhance the capabilities of our IT infrastructure. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related experience.
- 10+ years of extensive experience in z/OS database management systems.
- Ability to design and support Parallel Sysplex applications.
- Experience in technical leadership for managed service providers.
- Knowledge of database security concepts and compliance.
- Proficiency in performance monitoring and tuning of database systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven leadership in mentoring junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain database management systems including DB2, IMS/DB, and data sharing.
- Develop and enforce database security policies to protect sensitive data.
- Lead projects for upgrades, maintenance, and operational support of database systems.
- Collaborate with various teams to understand system requirements and provide solutions.
- Optimize database performance and resource utilization through monitoring and tuning.
