Role description: Arcadis is seeking a Senior Designer to join our Workplace Practice Group in Houston. The successful candidate will be a client leader with guiding industry knowledge, recognized specialization in workplace projects, and recognized ability to impact revenue and growth. We are looking for a creative, organized, and self-motivated individual who can fully interpret, coordinate, and execute projects and processes of any scale. The candidate should possess strong oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent presentation and documentation abilities. This role will support oil and gas workplace projects in Houston. The ideal candidate will be a team leader and mentor at all levels who effectively embodies and expresses Arcadis’s values and mission, takes a lead role in business development, and identifies and cultivates new relationships. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative and an excellent team player, with a strong willingness to learn and grow within the role. The ability to multi-task, follow through on assignments, and meet deadlines is crucial. Additionally, strong time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.

Requirements

  • Professional Degree in Interior Design or a related field
  • 8-10+ years of experience, with a strong background in workplace design
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in REVIT is required
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a proven ability to lead and inspire teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership, organizational, written/verbal communication, and relationship-management skills
  • NCIDQ certification required
  • LEED and/or WELL accreditation required
  • Must be geographically located in the Houston area for travel to active project sites

Responsibilities

  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously while leading a team to complete each task, collaborating with other professionals to ensure design and documentation is in conformance with client’s expectations
  • Proactive decision-making in selecting appropriate methods and standards for executing the work from the proposal stage through all project phases
  • Responsible for quality control that meet or exceed the firm’s quality standards regarding design intent, technical delivery, performance-driven design, and project management
  • Coordinating project design, construction, and management with both internal and external stakeholders while ensuring quality control and project execution
  • Resolving design and technical issues within the project scope and escalate as needed to ensure project objectives are met
  • Reviewing and processing submittals, shop drawings, substitution requests, and address RFIs
  • Writing documents of change and reviewing contractor pricing
  • Preparing owner and consultant contracts with the assistance of the leadership team
  • Preparing and presenting to clients and stakeholders
  • Managing and mentoring junior staff
  • Assist in preparation of proposals
  • Business development to help support growth of the Houston workplace team

  • The salary range for this position is $74,000 - $120,000.
  • Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
