About The Position

The Senior Wireless Solutions Engineer serves as a strategic technical leader who bridges the role in leading and supporting deployment and activation of advanced wireless solutions. Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Activations, this position bridges engineering, operations, and support functions to ensure the seamless delivery of cellular and integrated network services. Key responsibilities include providing technical support and solution design during pre-sales, influencing wireless product design, performing complex deployments, equipment activations, and serving as a Tier 3 escalation point for cellular issues. The role also involves developing standard templates for and conducting and reviewing complex site surveys to provide installation SOWs, performing standard project-based activation duties, equipment testing, documentation, training, and collaboration with tooling teams to enhance monitoring and asset tracking. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently in remote environments, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Engineering Support: Collaborate with the Sales Engineering team to provide technical and design expertise during pre-sales engagements and solution scoping, including country-specific power requirements.
  • Product Design Assistance: Partner with Product and Sales Engineering teams to influence and validate wireless product designs. Design and support integrated solutions involving cellular, SD-WAN, private networks, and other technologies.
  • Complex Design & Deployment: Serve as the technical lead and engineer for complex wireless solutions and deployments, ensuring robust architecture and execution.
  • Activations & Onboarding: Manage and execute cellular equipment activations, including router configuration and cabling, rack and mount, stack equipment, configuration validation, device onboarding into OI, and performance testing with end customers. Work with third-party field services, vendors, and OEMs and their distributors.
  • Equipment Testing: Lead testing and certification of new wireless hardware and configurations.
  • Documentation & Process Development: Create and maintain detailed documentation for designs, implementation plans, order workflows, and operational processes.
  • Escalation Point for Cellular Issues: Act as Tier 3 escalation for Junior Activations Engineers and SAT/Support teams on cellular-related issues.
  • Training & Enablement: Deliver training sessions and materials for Junior Activations Engineers, SAT/Support teams on new devices, designs, and deployment methodologies.
  • Tooling & Monitoring Collaboration: Work closely with the tools team to enhance OI monitoring and data for order tracking and CMDB asset management is captured accurately.
