The Wellness Manager will assess operations, lead annual plan, enables leadership at all levels. Provides direction to Director of Community Support Services, Associate Directors and Nurses related to wellness issues for the individuals. Provide ongoing training and education to individuals and employees as needed. Creates and develops opportunities within the seven dimensions of wellness; an annual plan will be created to sustain improvement and create new opportunities. Job Overview: To advance the activities and to facilitate wellness as the primary focus of everyday living. Quality of life is defined by the Individual but to be enabled by being well. Advancing wellness within the JEVS community substantially advances quality of life. 1. Specific Nutrition Provide access to knowledge about healthy eating and cooking; Develop tools and strategies to support re-learning eating and menu planning; Assess Intervention needed to advance health thru nutrition; Develop opportunities for S & R to show off” their efforts. 2.Spiritual Provide connections to/from consumers and staff and community spiritual/religious center; Provide for pastoral support for Hassel residents; Heighten awareness of the religion in a healthy life; Assure access to pastoral support related to loss and grieving. 3.Physical Activity Heighten the awareness of exercise as a part of a healthy lifestyle; Provide access to resources; Reconnect w/SO for those who desire the competition option; Develop goals to challenge people to get moving. 4. Social Leisure Provide assessments of Interest and time management; Provide access to knowledge of community centers, clubs, organization supports, hobbies, music, dance, art; Renew social and leisure choices and set goals to advance. 5. Psychological Provide support to evaluate outcome of mental health supports; Maintain knowledge of MIT system — access, services available; Represent JEVS at MH collaborative efforts. 6. Health Provide assistance to locate health resources; Assess trends in health status which may inspire wellness actions; Serve as JEVS rep on health related collaborative and effort. 7. Relationships Assess whether consumers have or are making Mends and connections with “non-staff”; Assist staff to encourage involvement of families as desired by the consumer; Make connections with other organization who support friend making.
