About this Role: The U.S. Patient and Market Access team is dedicated to ensuring patients have access to Takeda medications and have the best possible experience while utilizing them. The team’s remit includes all aspects of market access including direct customer-facing account teams for payers, PBMs, specialty and retail pharmacies, GPOs and distributors and a strategic team that develops all pricing, access, contracting, channel, reimbursement and distribution strategies. The team also is responsible for patient services and patient support programs including field-based access and reimbursement teams, internal hub case managers and all operational aspects of PSPs including data and analytics, training, quality, systems, and vendor management. We believe an integrated team allows for a more holistic approach to access and increased agility to support patients in an ever more complex healthcare environment. We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Vice President of Patient and Market Access to lead our efforts in ensuring patient access to our innovative therapies. The SVP will be responsible for leading a team that develops and executes strategies that optimize patient access, reimbursement, availability, and affordability for our products in the US market. The SVP will also serve as an enterprise-wide leader on the USBU executive Team (ELT) and the broader global Takeda Leadership Team (TLT). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the US healthcare system, including payer, PBM, specialty pharmacy, and distribution dynamics, and will have experience in leading account teams and direct multi-billion negotiations across a broad portfolio of medical and pharmacy benefit products. The ideal candidate will also have led teams in navigating complex reimbursement and access challenges for patients and will have a track record of building diverse teams and creating an inclusive environment where everyone can bring their entire selves to their roles.
