About The Position

In this position as Senior Vice President of Fundraising, you will lead The Family Place's non-event fundraising strategy and drive the revenue performance that makes our mission possible. You'll own contributed revenue across individual, corporate, and in-kind giving — building the relationships, systems, and team that sustain and grow our impact. You'll partner closely with the CEO and Board on major donor strategy while leading a fundraising team with a clear culture of accountability and performance. Whether you're closing a major gift, coaching a team member, or shaping a multi-year revenue plan, you'll bring both strategic vision and a hands-on approach to everything you do. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in fundraising, sales, business development, or revenue-generating roles.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and a clear driving record.
  • Knowledge of the Dallas philanthropic community preferred.
  • Experience conducting major gift solicitations and managing donors through a moves management process with demonstrated ability to make direct asks and close high-value commitments.
  • Deep understanding of fundraising principles, strategies, and best practices across multiple revenue streams (major gifts, corporate partnerships, foundation grants, planned giving, special events).
  • Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal communication skills with ability to connect with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including compelling storytelling and case for support development.
  • Advanced solicitation skills with demonstrated ability to make direct asks and close high-value commitments.
  • Ability to influence, inspire, and lead diverse stakeholders toward shared fundraising goals.
  • Ability to think strategically while remaining execution-oriented and results-driven with a strong focus on revenue generation
  • Proven ability to build and manage a pipeline and convert prospects into committed revenue.
  • Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, and ability to translate vision into execution.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial, and externally focused
  • Duties are usually performed seated with occasional periods of standing or walking.
  • Limited physical effort is required associated with lifting and carrying objects (less than 25 lbs).

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Revenue Ownership Develop and execute a multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with organizational goals and mission priorities.
  • Own total non-event revenue performance, including individual, corporate, and in-kind giving, with accountability for goals and forecasting.
  • Establish clear performance metrics and reporting structures to track progress and inform decisions.
  • Ensure revenue diversification to support long-term organizational sustainability.
  • Major Gifts & Donor Engagement Personally manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, leading cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Partner with the CEO and Board on strategy and relationship advancement for top-tier donors.
  • Build and maintain a strong prospect pipeline focused on new and growing revenue relationships.
  • Corporate & In-Kind Partnerships Identify, pursue, and close corporate partnerships that align with organizational values and revenue goals.
  • Develop strategies to grow in-kind contributions as a meaningful part of the overall fundraising portfolio.
  • Team Leadership & Accountability Lead and manage the fundraising team, establishing clear roles, goals, and accountability structures.
  • Foster a team culture grounded in ownership, responsiveness, and donor-centered engagement.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, professional development, and performance management.
  • CRM & Reporting Ensure effective use of CRM systems to support donor tracking, pipeline management, and reporting accuracy.
  • Use data and reporting to drive strategy, measure performance, and communicate results to leadership.
  • Executive & Board Partnership Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO on fundraising performance, pipeline, and donor engagement.
  • Partner with the Board and Development Committee to support external fundraising efforts and stakeholder engagement.
  • Prepare and present regular updates on revenue performance, forecasting, and strategic priorities.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
