About The Position

WSP USA is seeking a National Commercial Manager, with extensive experience in the management of procurement and post-award contract management teams as part of program management consultants responsible for delivery of large-scale infrastructure programs and projects, and business development of same. In this role, you will be responsible for pursuing, managing, providing procurement and contract administration services and support for all types of major projects and programs, as well as other specialized related services such as establishing structures and processes within the delivery organization required to facilitate proper integration of commercial efforts with the broader program/project organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Pre-Law, or closely related discipline.
  • 15+ years of relevant, post education professional experience in commercial management as part of major project delivery required.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and records management requirements relevant to project delivery (with focus on procurement and contract management on major projects), and the business impact upon the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability with establishing, implementing, and managing enterprise­ wide, a commercial management practice as an integral component of larger program and project management organizations, including related marketing and business development.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to manage a large span of control while effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interacting with employees at all levels within the Program Management Practice organization.
  • Strategic lateral thinking and strong analytical skills with attention to detail and prioritization of responsibilities in a pressure work environment.
  • Demonstrate a high level of organizational agility to gain the support and cooperation of executive management, clients, and key stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet business needs.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required to deliver duties of the position.
  • Extensive experience establishing, implementing, and managing enterprise­ wide, a commercial management practice as an integral component of larger program and project management organizations, including related marketing and business development.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the commercial management component of WSP’s Program Management Practice.
  • Drive nation-wide marketing and business development activities to be able to grow the commercial management component of WSP’s Program Management Practice.
  • Serve as Commercial / Contract Lead for the delivery of major projects and programs managed by WSP.
  • Work closely with the discipline leads and collaborate to win pursuits, execute projects and improve client relationships.
  • Provide commercial support and assist PMs and regional leads across the nation on major projects, including both pursuits and project delivery.
  • Provide insights into current and emerging technical trends in major project commercial management that impact WSP USA's business.
  • Perform additional relevant duties as required.
  • Make responsible and ethical decisions regarding company resources, adhering to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives.
