About The Position

The Senior Vice President, Freight Forwarding - Americas is responsible for leading, evolving, and executing the regional freight forwarding strategy for ocean and air, ensuring alignment with the overall strategy of DP World. This includes ownership of geographic focus, verticals, and service offerings. Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of senior management experience within Freight Forwarding and Logistics who has covered all facets of ocean freight in a previous career.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field.
  • Extensive leadership experience in the freight forwarding or logistics industry, ideally at a senior executive level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of international logistics, supply chain management, and trade dynamics.
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Financial acumen with a track record of managing budgets and achieving revenue growth.
  • Commitment to compliance, safety, and sustainability.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Refine and execute the regional freight forwarding strategy, aligning with global objectives and market opportunities.
  • Evaluate market trends, competitor activity, and internal performance to continuously optimize strategic direction.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, scalability, and efficiency across the region.
  • Oversee and optimize the performance of an established regional freight forwarding network.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality execution across trade lanes, countries, and service lines.
  • Strengthen and standardize processes, leveraging best practices to drive operational excellence and consistency.
  • Identify and accelerate growth opportunities across existing and new markets, customers, and trade routes.
  • Strengthen strategic partnerships with carriers, agents, and key stakeholders to improve capability and competitiveness.
  • Deepen customer relationships and expand share of wallet through differentiated service offerings.
  • Lead, align, and further develop a high-performing team of regional and functional leaders.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and capability building to support long-term business growth.
  • Own and optimize financial performance, including budgets, revenue growth, and profitability targets.
  • Monitor performance metrics and drive data-led decision-making to improve margins and efficiency.
  • Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities while maintaining service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs procedures, and industry standards.
  • Proactively manage Regional risks and challenges related to customs, sanctions, and trade restrictions.
  • Maintain and champion a customer-centric culture focused on service excellence and long term partnership.
  • Ensure effective resolution of customer feedback and continuous enhancement of the customer experience.
  • Champion sustainable and environmentally responsible practices within the Regional freight forwarding division.
  • Explore and implement eco-friendly logistics solutions to reduce the division's environmental impact.
