We’re looking for a Senior UX Researcher to join our Adaptive Inventory team. You’ll focus on helping the team to address a critical and complex marketplace challenge: helping sellers easily and effectively list their items on Etsy in a way that meets multiple marketplace needs — ensuring that buyers can easily evaluate if an item is right for them, expressing and affirming Etsy's brand, powering search and recommendations algorithms with critical data, and more. As a Senior UX Researcher on Etsy’s Product Research team, you will work in partnership with product managers, designers, engineers, and alongside other researchers and data scientists to deliver insights that will craft the future of human commerce on Etsy. You know how to conduct professional-quality user experience research, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative methods. You work well with others, and have proven instincts about when to hold the line on methodological rigor, and when to adapt to the changing demands of a project. Most importantly, you approach your work with a genuine sense of curiosity and empathy, and you’re willing to challenge conventional wisdom to find the right answer! This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior UX Research Manager for Inventory. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. Etsy offers different work modes to meet the variety of needs and preferences of our team. Learn more details about our work modes and workplace safety policies here. Etsy’s Inventory team supports the heart of our marketplace: our sellers. We create thoughtful tools that help them manage, share, and grow their one-of-a-kind creations. Our research team focuses on using research to guide the development of buyer and seller experiences in our dynamic marketplace of unique items. Research at Etsy is a core part of our product development culture, alongside Product Management, Engineering, Design, and Analytics. We collaborate with our partner teams through all stages of product development, from identifying initial opportunities, to refining the user experience to analyzing the impact of our efforts and highlighting improvement areas.
