Position Overview: RTX’s Enterprise Data Services (ES-Data) group is seeking a Senior User Experience Designer to support RTX’s Data and AI strategy. This individual will work on the Product Design team at ES-Data; partnering with colleagues within ES-Data and across the RTX enterprise to drive user research and design for ES-Data products and RTX business unit initiatives. Designers who thrive within ES-Data are strategic, detail-oriented and multi-skilled. They work in complex domains that require deep collaboration with internal teams and subject matter experts across the enterprise. Our mission is to apply human-centered design expertise to the biggest data and AI opportunities, fusing ES-Data’s advanced capabilities with real user needs and tangible business value.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
  • 7+ years’ experience designing digital products. Preferably in a software development or technology environment.

Responsibilities

  • Apply design thinking methods to lead problem framing, ideation and concept exploration that balance user needs, business objectives and technical constraints.
  • Collaborate in workshop facilitation by owning design thinking activities and breakout discussions, working directly with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to translate pain-points and opportunities into product concepts.
  • Plan and conduct user research in complex domains (aerospace, defense, ops & supply chain).
  • Synthesize research inputs to generate clear, actionable insights.
  • Drive end-to-end product design from concept and validation through agile development to product rollout and continuous improvements.
  • Present research findings and product designs to stakeholders and business leaders.
  • Facilitate alignment, manage feedback and supporting confident decision-making
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, data and engineering teams and domain experts to design production-grade enterprise solutions.
  • Contribute to high value reusable assets including our Design System and Design Thinking Toolkit.
