About The Position

The Senior Trainer serves as the expert‑level instructional lead responsible for developing, delivering, and overseeing advanced cybersecurity and C‑UAS training programs. The Senior Trainer will also manage and evolve advanced DHS cyber and C‑UAS–adjacent training programs—including high‑tempo SEAR‑level readiness exercises.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S citizen with a valid secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 6-10+ years’ experience in instructional training.
  • Experience in DHS, DoD, or Federal programs critical‑infrastructure training.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting full‑scale, scenario‑based operator evaluations and practical skills assessments.
  • Proven track record developing labs, simulations, exercises, and certification pathways for technical learners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to serve as senior training lead and mentor junior instructors.
  • Proven ability to Delivering high‑complexity concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Experience overseeing course lifecycle management, curriculum updates based on evolving threat intel, version control & documentation quality, and end‑user certification standards.
  • Skilled in multi‑agency training coordination.
  • Ability to ensure all courses maintain compliance with DHS standards, Federal cybersecurity best practices, agency specific policy updates, and emerging threat intelligence and evolving adversary TTPs.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years hands‑on experience in cybersecurity operations, SOC environments, red‑blue‑purple team support, or incident response.
  • Strong working knowledge of working knowledge of network monitoring tools, SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Elastic, QRadar, ArcSight), IDS/IPS technologies, firewalls and next‑gen firewalls, scanning and vulnerability assessment tools, and log analysis and forensic workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver full-scale, scenario-based training of product to end-users and conduct baseline evaluations to validate operator understanding.
  • Assist with the development of simulations, labs, exercises, and certification pathways.
  • Develops and runs training programs across DHS and partner environments.
  • Develop training readiness plans.
  • Teaches secure architecture, encryption, segmentation, and baseline configurations.
  • Delivers training on network monitoring, SIEM use, and incident response.
  • Guides learners through documentation and forensic processes.
  • Trains personnel on firewalls, encryption, SIEMs, IDS/IPS, and scanning tools.
  • Conduct quarterly sustainment drills and refresh training.
  • Teaches adversary emulation and hardening techniques.
  • Ensure course alignment with DHS, NIST, and federal cybersecurity policy.
  • Coach junior trainers and oversees course lifecycle quality.
  • Assit with course updates as emerging threat intelligence and evolving cyber tactics are known.
  • Conduct cross-agency recertification exercises.
  • Deliver operator-level, authority-level, and governance training.
  • Perform event-focused readiness exercises to simulate high-tempo SEAR level conditions.
  • Convert technical content into teachable modules for varied skill levels
