About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Global Trade Specialist based in Arlington, VA to join the Global Trade Controls (GTC) Licensing and Policy team. Boeing Global Trade Controls (GTC) serves as a strategic business partner supporting Boeing’s businesses by ensuring compliance with complex global trade regulations and providing expert guidance on complex trade issues. The candidate must be driven, organized and capable of managing multiple tasks with minimal direction. To ensure Boeing export licenses and authorizations are thoroughly reviewed and properly submitted to the U.S. Government, the Senior Global Trade Specialist will be required to collaborate with other members of the GTC team, Boeing commercial, defense and space business stakeholders, and various USG regulatory agencies, including but not limited to the State Department Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), Commerce Department Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), and Department of Defense technology and international program offices.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience writing and/or reviewing US export control licenses.
  • 8+ of experience providing guidance on US export regulations (e.g., Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and monitors EAR & ITAR export applications submitted to the U.S. Government (USG).
  • Engages and coordinates with the USG on export licensing matters.
  • Provides regulatory expertise on export license applications (e.g., TAAs, DSPs).
  • Provides export control regulatory guidance as a subject matter expert (SME) within the company.
  • Develops and provides internal presentations regarding regulatory updates and strategic licensing guidance.
  • Reviews and analyzes ITAR/EAR Federal Register changes and global trade regulations for impacts on business partners.
  • Coordinates and monitors technology release requests for internal functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
