Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum of 3(three) years’ experience in trade management.

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent knowledge in processing import shipments accurately and efficiently
  • Excellent working knowledge of US Customs Regulations, Free Trade Programs, Customs ACE System, and Duty Drawback.
  • Excellent understanding of HTS codes and experience in HTS classification
  • Strong knowledge of valuation and country of origin requirements
  • Strong ability to identify and describe parts, machines and components in detail to completely and accurately support classification determinations in accordance with regulations.
  • Strong self-starter with the ability to work extended periods without supervision and with good personal drive.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to make decisions on their own.
  • Good organizational, planning, follow-up and reporting skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to solve routine problems.
  • Experience with ERP, specifically SAP operating system and Global Trade Solution (GTS)
  • Experience with IEEPA, Section 301, and 232.
  • Data analytics experience to assess potential savings opportunities.
  • U.S. Customs Broker License
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CUSECO, CES, CCS

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Customs Brokers and Suppliers to ensure all foreign documents (receipts) follow US Customs laws/regulations.
  • Coordinate Rehlko responses to Customs Brokers and Forwarders requests for information.
  • Review shipping documents for accuracy and take appropriate action.
  • Perform valuation analysis, country of origin reviews, assists to value and special trade program usage for import shipments.
  • Classify material in material master database and assign harmonized tariff schedule (HTS) numbers for both import and export shipments.
  • Research products using various engineering systems to determine component structure for classification.
  • Application of antidumping/countervailing duty (ADD/CVD) cases, updating and providing blanket statements.
  • Maintain records, including the parts database in accordance with customs record keeping requirements.
  • Review automated commercial system (ACE) account data daily.
  • Develop metrics and audit criteria to measure compliance with laws and regulations
  • HTS chapter 98 compliance, specifically agricultural exemptions
  • Perform special projects as required.
