About The Position

Skilled CNC Machinist who drives safe, high-quality, data-informed manufacturing through precise machine set-ups and efficient production execution. Leverages hands-on expertise with Fanuc and Haas controls to establish accurate work offsets, load and run programs, and continuously monitor processes to improve throughput and reduce scrap. Brings a strong foundation in blueprint reading and GD&T, disciplined use of inspection tools and gaging, and a mindset aligned with continuous improvement—with added value from exposure to programming, CNC lathes, and 3D modeling (SolidWorks). Collaborative team contributor who adapts quickly to changing priorities and supports delivery commitments. This role works a 9/80 schedule. Hours during training will be on 1st shift (7:00 AM to 4:30 PM) until fully trained. Once trained, this role will move to working 2nd shift (3:30 PM to 12:30 AM). Start time may flex within 1 hour at Manager discretion.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in specialty area such as welding and/or tool making
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings
  • Basic understanding of GD&T, as well as ability to work via verbal instructions
  • Ability to use measuring equipment and gages to ensure produced part meets specification
  • Understanding of safety, quality, and continuous improvement expectations in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work 1st shift while training (7:00 AM to 4:30 PM), then once trained, work 2nd shift (3:30 PM to 12:30 AM)
  • Willingness to work overtime to meet production demands
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Programming knowledge (preferred)
  • Experience with CNC lathes (preferred)
  • Experience using 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, etc.) (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform set-ups on a variety of CNC equipment with a general knowledge of Fanuc and Haas controls
  • Utilize knowledge of CNC controls to set zero reference points, tool offsets, and loads programs
  • Run production, monitoring parts to ensure accurate high-quality parts are made safely and efficiently
  • Utilize the data collection system to accurately record production activities including time spent, quantity produced, and any rejected parts
  • Execute programming tasks
  • Work with CNC lathes, and 3D modeling software (SolidWorks)
  • Work with blueprints and drawings, and utilize understanding of GD&T as well as work from verbal instructions
  • Utilize measuring equipment and gages to ensure produced part meets specification
  • Utilize understanding of safety, quality and continuous improvement expectations in a manufacturing environment
