About The Position

Epiq Solutions is seeking a full-time Senior Test Engineer with at least three years of hands-on experience to join our team. This role sits within the software team and focuses on developing robust, maintainable automation software to support hardware validation and production testing. The Senior Test Engineer will architect and implement automated test solutions for Epiq’s board-level and system-level SDR products. This includes developing software to control electronic test equipment (e.g., RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power supplies), collect performance data, generate reports and, when needed, design and build supporting test harnesses. The ideal candidate will have new product introduction (NPI) experience, taking products from initial requirements through production test and support, and will work closely with both engineering and production teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience
  • Strong proficiency in Python (or similar language) for building production-quality automation software
  • Experience designing and maintaining modular, reusable software systems
  • Experience debugging and troubleshooting software interacting with hardware systems
  • Understanding of software architecture principles and maintainability considerations
  • Basic understanding of RF concepts and measurement techniques
  • Able to read and interpret schematics, PCB layout, and assembly documents for electronic printed circuit boards
  • Comfortable working with engineering staff to develop test procedures and documentation
  • Self-starter with strong troubleshooting skills
  • Able to manage and prioritize work across multiple concurrent projects

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building test automation frameworks
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborate development workflows
  • Experience integrating automated test into CI/CD pipelines (if applicable)
  • Familiarity with Linux-based development environments
  • Advanced understanding of RF performance metrics, such as noise figure, spurious free dynamic range, image rejection, etc.
  • RF testing experience from .002 – 40 GHz
  • Experience testing products that utilize high-speed backplanes such as 3U/6U VPX and other form factors
  • Experience with temperature, shock, burn-in and environmental testing (including MIL-STD 810G)

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineering team to identify, develop, and document the required testing scenarios for Epiq's products from concept to production
  • Develop software libraries for controlling various electronic test equipment, including RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, temperature chambers, etc. via GPIB, serial, ethernet, or other standard interfaces
  • Architect and implement maintainable, scalable automated test software applications, following software engineering best practices
  • Develop documentation capturing the details of the test procedures
  • Generate test results, reports, and recommendations for review by both engineering and production teams
  • Provide training on test procedures to production staff
  • Support production team in resolving yield and build issues
