Job Description Position Overview The Cybersecurity Senior Engineer will maintain the cybersecurity of Invenergy by maintaining security standards, reviewing and approving project security designs, and researching and evaluating cybersecurity hardware and security solutions to ensure that Invenergy addresses current and future cybersecurity risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in an enterprise cybersecurity environment.
  • Experience architecting cybersecurity solutions.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Certifications: CISSP, CISA, CISM or equivalent.
  • Operational Technology experience.

Responsibilities

  • Security Architecture Design and Development: Research and evaluate available hardware and software solutions to design and plan comprehensive security architectures.
  • Develop and implement enterprise-class security systems, considering the organization's technology and information systems landscape.
  • Align the security strategy and infrastructure with the overall business and technology strategy.
  • Maintain security technical standards, collaborating with the security team and other architectural disciplines
  • Design security architecture elements to mitigate current and emerging threats.
  • Establish and maintain standard use case architectures (ex. branch office, generation plant) in conjunction with other architects.
  • Review, recommend and approve security configuration of applications
  • Review and approve installation of security components such as firewalls, VPNs, routers, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats to stakeholders.
  • Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses, and security assessments to identify and address weaknesses.
  • Develop solutions that balance business requirements with cybersecurity requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Security Operations and Incident Response: Plan and design security authentication protocols to control access to systems and data.
  • Support secure software development and integration tasks, particularly for legacy and modern applications.
  • Respond in real-time to security-related incidents and report them to management.
  • Oversee security testing strategies, including vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Provide mentoring and guidance to the security team on technical matters.
  • Collaborate effectively with technical and nontechnical teams to advise on security decisions.
  • Collaborate with other IT architectural experts such as applications and infrastructure to establish secure and cost effective technology roadmaps that facilitate the company achieving business goals.
