About The Position

This is technical and multi-disciplined engineering work performing complex and responsible engineering duties. The incumbent will serve as the Resident Inspector on construction projects and oversee the supervision of other technicians to accomplish tasks. The incumbent will work primarily on Intelligent Transportation System Projects consisting of traffic signals and roadway information systems, including but not limited to Changeable Message Signs, Traffic Monitoring Cameras and Roadway Weather Information Systems. Construction oversight work may also include various other multimodal projects including railroad and ferry terminal projects. Work includes ensuring contractor complies with contract specifications, verifying field measurements, and processing contractor pay requisitions. Winter duties include project estimates and project constructability reviews. Work is performed under limited supervision.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of experience in engineering -OR- a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and four (4) years of engineering experience -OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and six (6) years of experience in engineering.
