About The Position

This is professional services work, and the primary function of this position is to be the Region’s Quality Assurance Technician (QAT). The primary responsibility of the QAT is to manage, edit, and process data from field crews, aerial mapping, LiDAR, and other sources to produce mapping products. Ability to be the Department’s survey point of contact for construction projects when Regional PLS is unavailable. Responsibilities may include some field collection assignments. Work is performed under limited supervision.

Requirements

• Eight (8) years of experience in engineering -OR- a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and four (4) years of engineering experience -OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and six (6) years of experience in engineering

Responsibilities

• Checking and editing data for errors and completeness
• Converting data to an appropriate format
• Documenting data sources and products
• Provide expertise with regard to; the survey equipment, field & processing software, field procedures
• Mentor and train the region’s survey crews as well as consultants
