About The Position

The Senior Technician performs minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers, conducts regular preventative maintenance on service trucks including inspection, tire rotation, and oil changes. This role involves collaborating with the repair team to diagnose vehicle problems and plan repairs, maintaining accurate records of all repairs, and ensuring all maintenance to the operation of equipment is completed. The technician troubleshoots and repairs mechanical malfunctions, inspects fleet vehicles for DOT compliance, including brake maintenance, and completes all required daily reporting. Additionally, the role involves maintaining equipment, parts, and supplies inventories, preparing mechanical maintenance reports, and maintaining a safe and clean working environment by adhering to Company, DOT, and OSHA regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience as a diesel technician or similar role
  • Strong understanding of diesel engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
  • Proficient with hand tools and power tools
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school or diesel mechanic certification
  • CDL may be required or preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers.
  • Conducts regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation, and oil changes.
  • Collaborates with the repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs.
  • Maintains accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles.
  • Responsible for repairing, modifying, and performing preventative maintenance on applicable fleet vehicles.
  • Responsible for all maintenance to the operation of equipment by completing all required preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical malfunctions.
  • Inspects fleet vehicles to ensure that all vehicles are DOT compliant including brake maintenance.
  • Completes all required daily reporting.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Adheres to strict safe work practices to comply with all Company, DOT and OSHA regulations.
