About The Position

Collins Aerospace is hiring a Senior Lab Assistant who works under minimal supervision. This candidate will perform hands-on technical work with engineering products. This role confers with Engineers and Lab Technicians on details and specifications to build, modify, and inspect a wide range of products. What You Will Do: Works under minimal supervision to provide technical building support to engineers and technicians on a variety of tasks. Performs moderately complex hands-on technical tasks that contribute to the completion of engineering projects and products. Works on circuit boards completing repairs, component insertion and replacement, and even inspection. Familiar with soldering techniques, both lead and lead-free. Build cables and terminations for a wide variety of circuity types. Understands the engineering inspection and quality process and follows quality procedures. Reads prints, drawings, and schematics as needed to assist in the building process. Documents change and inspection results as required for a wide variety of products. Uses hand tools, scopes, soldering stations, and other devices with skill and precision. Demonstrates successful soft skills - communication, attitude, leadership, and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous or current experience with building and inspecting.
