Job Summary The Senior Technician, Lab Applications is responsible for providing laboratory technical support to pSemi’s Sales and Marketing business units for all power products in close collaboration with the respective Applications and Systems members. It is also required to provide support for RF and power design, production, and quality departments as requested. The job requires expertise in RF, characterization, power, and analog measurements. This is a part time position working up to 24 hours a week.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience as a semiconductor technician.
  • Demonstrated test and measurement skills.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel and power point.
  • Strong problem-solving record for component / board level debug.
  • Able to work independently and effectively in communication of results / challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Power building blocks
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout experience.
  • Works with vendors to fabricate and assemble newly designed boards
  • Understanding of electronical engineering fundamentals

Responsibilities

  • Performing advanced measurements in the RF and power laboratory at a component level as Assembles and re-works boards with small and/or high-density footprints (as small as 0201 components, > 50 balls WLCSP).
  • Power up and functional testing of PCB boards. Operates software to ensure that the board is operational as the solution was designed to be.
  • Debug at the PCB and component level. If the solution does not operate methodically, check if there are shorts? opens? The correct components are installed.
  • Manages lab upkeep which includes making sure the lab items (solder, peripheral components, etc.) are available, equipment is calibrated and accounted for.
  • Manages PCB builds, inventory, and fulfillment of customer evaluation boards.
  • Performs lab tests with engineering assistance.
