Role We are looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join the Technical Publications department. This is a hybrid role based in San Jose, CA three days a week, reporting to the Senior Manager, Technical Publications. You will help deliver a growing portfolio of capabilities in threat prevention and business enablement by turning complex technical information into clear, effective documentation. Requirements

5+ years of technical writing experience, supported by U.S. citizenship and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Demonstrated leadership through mentoring and the ability to influence cross-functional teams and project outcomes without formal authority
Technical expertise in REST API documentation, with deep hands-on proficiency in OpenAPI Specification (Swagger) and JSON
Advanced workflow management using JIRA and Confluence to track, manage, and deliver documentation projects
Strategic, audience-centric approach to content, ensuring all documentation is written in direct context with the target user's specific needs and technical level

Nice To Haves

Experience in writing online help, knowledge base articles, and working in Agile environments
Familiarity with network and/or cloud security, web-based or mobile products
Hands-on experience with HTML5/CSS

Responsibilities

Translate complex technical information into high-quality documentation and UI text—including release notes, tooltips, and error messages—tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences
Enhance documentation usability and clarity by integrating strategic graphics, illustrations, and visual aids
Collaborate cross-functionally with SMEs in Engineering, Field Support, Sales, and Product Marketing to ensure technical accuracy and content relevance
Drive user experience by establishing documentation standards, style guides, and terminology to ensure consistency across all platforms
Lead and mentor the technical writing team while overseeing project scheduling and management to ensure the timely delivery of all documentation initiatives
