This team is a mighty group of Technical Writers and UX Writers who strive to deliver accurate, concise, and well-written technical documentation, online help, and in-app messaging that help our users to perform their tasks. You’ll thrive here if you’re curious, open-minded, flexible, passionate about user experience, love to take ownership, and deeply value collaboration. Our ideal candidate has experience working with agile software development teams in the technical enterprise software (cloud & AI) space, is passionate about writing for developers and other technical audiences, and has experience documenting complex software products and APIs. We want someone who shares a knack for simplifying complexity so that information is presented to users in clear, consumable, and actionable ways.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven experience writing technical documentation for complex software products in an agile environment
  • Contributed to multiple shipped products and documented developer & user guides, APIs, reference docs, and release notes for technologies such as AI, cloud, iPaas, SaaS, etc
  • Experience working with multiple fast-paced software agile Engineering teams, using Jira boards, tracking issues, reviewing epics and code samples, understanding technical tasks, and explaining them in plain language
  • Outstanding verbal and written skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to research technical concepts, analyze specifications, and communicate them clearly and precisely
  • Ability to multitask, adapt, prioritize, and collaborate respectfully with Engineering, Product Management, UX, Customer Success,& other cross-functional groups to improve user experience and write content
  • You know how to work with the following:
  • Docs-as-code/CI-CD approach for documentation
  • Markdown
  • Bitbucket or Github
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, Python, or JavaScript to work with code snippets and scripts

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with fast-paced agile software engineering teams, technical writers, designers, and product managers to understand complex technical concepts, gather information and translate them into engaging, user-friendly technical documentation, developer and user guides, API references, release notes, tutorials, and other learning resources
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and with other writers to collect and address customer feedback in a timely manner
  • Work on strategic initiatives, content migration, and improvement projects
  • Contribute to tools, workflows, and processes that make documentation more efficient, collaborative, and scalable
  • Adapt to a fast-paced, multi-team agile environment with a willingness to manage competing priorities and use agile methods to keep in sync with team priorities and roadmap.
