Requirements

  • Four year degree in electronics, engineering, or computer science, plus a minimum of six years’ experience in developing and delivering technical training using industry standard instructional systems design.
  • Must have experience leading training teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • High degree of competence using Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be familiar with general networking architecture, and proficient in the Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Able to develop technical materials for web-based deployment using industry standard development tools.
  • Ability to use and learn drawing and presentation packages, such as, VISIO, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings and other engineering content.
  • Able to independently plan, prioritize and organize work schedules.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Available for occasional domestic and foreign travel.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates leadership to the technical training team to establish and implement best practices, standards, process improvement, and training product improvement goals.
  • Acts as a training lead for large strategic transportation projects to assess customer needs and requirements and define and implement training plans per required schedule. This is in partnership with engineering, program managers, and customers.
  • Generates strategic plans to evolve Cubic’s technical training programs by analyzing competitive transportation training solutions and general training industry solutions and technologies.
  • Develops and delivers training course materials, including manuals, training plans, outlines, learning objectives, instructor guides, student guides, workshop exercises and performance tests per Cubic standards and customer requirements.
  • Conducts formal classroom and hands-on training on software applications and/or devices.
  • Creates, edits or modifies rich media elements such as video clips, illustrations, or vector and raster (bitmap) images.
  • Designs and develops content for web-based or eLearning delivery platforms, including wiki content, online help systems, and interactive multimedia web content.
  • Generates requirements on behalf of the training team for the application of new enterprise systems and/or new technologies for training business processes and products as needed.
  • Evaluates and edits manuals and training materials or engineering documents developed by other writers or engineers as needed.
  • Works directly with bids and proposals team to contribute to training proposal text, training cost inputs, and schedule as needed.
