About The Position

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Senior Technical Trainer to join a dynamic team impacting the entire organization! In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the coordination, instruction, classroom, and field management of Mortenson's Registered Apprenticeship Program and electrical state licensing process. This role serves as a subject matter expert for the delivery of curriculum and primary contact for their representative Operating Group leadership teams for the Apprenticeship Program and Electrical Licensing.

Requirements

  • Eight or more years of licensed, journey or technician-level knowledge and skills in the electrical or similar trade
  • Hold a Master Electrical License in one or more states
  • Successful completion of NCCER ICTP
  • Exposure to OSHA training requirements
  • Advanced communication, presentation and classroom training facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional methodology
  • Basic computer and software skills (Microsoft applications)
  • Current driver's license
  • Ability to travel up to 75%

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to NCCER curriculum preferred
  • Classroom training facilitation experience preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency preferred
  • Ability to connect with and influence apprentices and other stakeholders
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical focused NCCER modules, assessments and performance profiles
  • Partner with project leadership and project-based instructors to schedule classroom instruction, online assessments and electrical field evaluations
  • Ensure tools, books and other necessary resources are available for all training sessions
  • Manage, mentor and evaluate project-based instructors, performance evaluators and proctors
  • Manage and support the administration of state electrical licensing for qualified candidates
  • Collaborate with project team to create project training plans including schedules and selection of electrical apprentices
  • Partner with the Manager of Apprenticeship and Learning and Development Specialists on completion, tracking and storage of required electrical program documentation
  • Assist with the administration of new apprentice registration documents as needed
  • Utilize effective presentation skills including creative training techniques and adult learning techniques
  • Actively participate in electrical subject matter review committees with NCCER and other organizations
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
