About The Position

We’re looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter who deeply understands the aerospace and space systems landscape—someone who can operate as a true partner to engineering leadership while building world-class teams from the ground up. This role is not traditional recruiting. You will be responsible for hiring highly specialized engineers working on reentry vehicles, thermal protection systems (TPS), propulsion, avionics, and advanced manufacturing. Success requires fluency in aerospace terminology, familiarity with niche talent pools, and the ability to engage credibly with top-tier candidates. This is a full-time onsite role You’ll be embedded with engineering teams, working side-by-side to drive hiring strategy and execution in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical recruiting experience, with a strong focus on aerospace, defense, or space systems
  • Proven track record hiring for highly specialized engineering roles
  • Deep familiarity with aerospace domains such as:
  • Reentry systems and environments
  • Thermal protection (ablatives, tiles, heat shielding)
  • Flight hardware and systems engineering
  • Strong understanding of technical terminology and ability to screen and qualify candidates credibly
  • Experience sourcing from:
  • Aerospace primes and startups
  • Government labs
  • Top engineering universities
  • Ability to operate in a fast-moving, ambiguous startup environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • High ownership mentality—you don’t wait for direction, you build the system

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for highly technical roles across aerospace engineering, including:
  • Thermal Protection Systems (TPS)
  • Structures & materials (ablatives, composites, high-temp alloys)
  • Propulsion & GNC
  • Avionics, embedded systems, and flight software
  • Test, manufacturing, and integration
  • Partner closely with hiring managers and technical leads to:
  • Define role requirements, leveling, and interview strategy
  • Calibrate candidates at a deep technical level
  • Build and execute targeted sourcing strategies across:
  • Aerospace/defense companies
  • Space startups
  • Research labs and universities
  • Actively source and engage passive candidates using creative, high-touch outreach
  • Develop strong pipelines for niche and hard-to-fill roles
  • Run a high-quality candidate experience from first contact through close
  • Drive offer strategy, negotiation, and closing for top-tier talent
  • Track pipeline metrics and provide data-driven insights to leadership
