Senior Technical Program Manager
About The Position
The Solution Engineering department plays a critical role in supporting the company's custom-built software for the annuity policy administration and other in-house built technology solutions. The team is responsible for ensuring that all technical solutions align with long-term business objectives and follow the latest technologies, architecture, and best practices in software engineering. Through close collaboration with engineering teams and business stakeholders, the department enables incremental development toward the company's enterprise architecture goals while maintaining high standards for security, scalability, and performance. The Technical Program Manager (Level II) bridges business strategy and technical execution, owning end-to-end engineering program delivery from planning through release of the Solution Engineering Scope. This role translates BRD line items from PMO into executable workstreams for the Solution Engineering Team, define engineering milestones to project roadmaps, manages risk and quality, and communicates progress to stakeholders and the PMO. You'll own and facilitate engineering ceremonies, remove roadblocks, and ensure every milestone delivers measurable, testable business value within governance standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, related field or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in technical program or project management.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and Jira/Confluence tools.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience coordinating across technical and non-technical teams.
Nice To Haves
- Insurance or Finance industry experience (regulatory and risk considerations)
- Familiarity with financial/insurance platforms
Responsibilities
- Own and lead planning, tracking, and delivery of software programs and projects.
- Translate business requirements into actionable engineering tasks with clear acceptance criteria.
- Manage risk, dependencies, and progress to ensure predictable outcomes.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with Product, Project Management, Staff-level Engineers, and Architecture to ensure technical feasibility and quality.
