Operational Excellence Department The Operational Excellence team establishes the systems, practices, and culture that enable Vantage to operate at scale across North America with consistency, quality, and speed. We strengthen the scalability and effectiveness of NA Operations - including Mission Critical Operations, Sales Engineering, Customer Experience, and Design Integration - by partnering with business leaders and global functions to standardize how we work, drive process excellence, deliver strategic programs, enable data-driven decisions, and embed continuous improvement and transformation. Position Overview This role will be based in Denver, CO. Following our flexible work policy (3 days in-office, 2 days flexible). The Technical Program Manager (TPM) Leads enterprise-level Data Strategy initiatives and aligns sequencing across concurrent NA Operations strategic programs. The TPM partners with OE leadership and senior Ops stakeholders to align Data Strategy sequencing with enterprise initiatives and ensures disciplined execution across all major workstreams. The initial 12-month mandate focuses on establishing trusted KPI foundations, operational data governance, telemetry standardization, executive reporting readiness, and foundational AI enablement across mission-critical operations. This is a senior technical program leadership role requiring strong data fluency, systems thinking, and experience operating in high-reliability environments.. The TPM will coordinate delivery and defines integration architecture and dependency resolution strategy across concurrent NA Operations and OE efforts including KPI foundations, governance go‑live, telemetry automation, dashboard standardization, and change enablement. The role requires strong cross‑functional leadership across Mission Critical Operations (MCO), Solutions Engineering (SE), Customer Experience CE), Data & Analytics team, including (Automation & Reliability Engineer, Data Engineer and BI Developers), IT Global, and PMO partners. This role is accountable for shaping cross-program integration strategy and reducing systemic execution risk across data strategy and other strategic operations efforts while ensuring the shift from fragmented reporting to governed, trusted, AI-ready analytics infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s in business management, Engineering, Computer Science related field, or equivalent experience
  • PMP certification strongly preferred
  • Experience: 8-14+ leading enterprise-level technical or data programs spanning multiple operational domains, involving multiple operational and/or engineering workstreams and dependencies.
  • Experience working in Business Operations or Operations‑adjacent environments, supporting executive reporting, operational KPIs, and change initiatives.
  • Experience operating in mission-critical, infrastructure, data center, energy, or similarly high-reliability environments strongly preferred
  • Experience influencing senior leaders and resolving cross-program integration conflicts
  • Practical understanding of data management lifecycle, including data definition, ingestion, transformation, quality, governance, documentation, and operational reporting.
  • Experience advising on sequencing strategy and systemic risk across concurrent initiatives.
  • Strong familiarity with data and analytics industry best practices, including KPI standardization, data governance concepts, data quality controls, lineage, stewardship models, and maturity frameworks.
  • Skills: Senior-level technical program management: Experience delivering multi‑workstream initiatives with complex dependencies, RAID management, and executive reporting (40+ deliverables in parallel).
  • Cross‑functional leadership: Able to drive accountability across KPI owners without formal authority.
  • Executive communication and storytelling: Synthesizes progress, risks, decisions needed, and “so‑what” insights into concise pre‑reads and readout materials.
  • Operational reporting: Familiarity with standardized KPI reporting rhythms (monthly reviews / executive readouts), ensuring consistent definitions, calculations, and readiness across presenting teams.
  • Data strategy and governance fluency (working level): Understands KPI dictionary concepts, lineage references, certification status tracking, stewardship roles, and decision‑rights documentation
  • Change enablement execution: Able to run training and communications logistics that support adoption of new KPI standards and data‑driven habits (data literacy & culture)
  • Structured documentation management: Maintains a clean shared repository, version control discipline, and a decision register (what was decided, when, by whom) to prevent churn and rework.
  • Strong analytical thinking: Asks the right questions, spot gaps/risks in KPI narratives, ability to challenge KPI calculation logic and ensure executive-grade defensibility of metrics.
  • Proficiency with enterprise tools: (e.g., Jira/ClickUp/Smartsheet equivalents), plus Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), and SharePoint for shared templates and collaboration.
  • Domain context: Experience supporting critical operations / high‑reliability environments (data center, infrastructure, or rapid growth operations)
  • Comfort working in environments with “immature or fragmented data” transitioning to governed analytics.
  • Travel required is expected to be up to 20%, but may increase over time as business evolves

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Translation & Program Execution Translate the approved Data Strategy roadmap into an integrated, sequenced delivery plan, drive disciplined execution, and resolves cross-program conflicts affecting prioritization, integration timing, and resource alignment.
  • Coordinate delivery of P1/P2 KPI foundations (Uptime, Customer Health Index (TRIR), SLA Exposure, Time Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR).
  • Ensure Data Governance Operating Model is operationalized (cadence, ownership, certification readiness).
  • Coordinate AI foundation activities across Operations functions, including dashboard standardization and data aggregation milestones.
  • Aligns and optimizes sequencing between Data Strategy and other enterprise initiatives (KPI foundations, Ops Reviews/Readouts readiness, governance milestones, AI pilots), tracking dependencies and ensuring timely completion across all workstreams.
  • Establish disciplined program governance including decision logs, RAID tracking, dependency mapping, and executive-level transparency.
  • Cross‑Functional Coordination & Data Rigor Act as the single orchestration point across Operations, Data Strategy, BI, IT.
  • Facilitate alignment sessions to resolve KPI definition, data ownership, and dependency conflicts.
  • Coordinate telemetry aggregation and data pipeline milestones required to support standardized reporting and predictive analytics readiness
  • Identifies systemic data integrity risks, lineage gaps, or ownership ambiguities that could impact executive trust in reported metrics.
  • Coordinate baseline maturity inputs (assessment logistics and tools, evidence collection, stakeholder scheduling) and track maturity improvement actions as part of program delivery.
  • Defines, refines and supports maintenance of KPI artifacts (KPI dictionary, lineage references, certification status, stewardship assignments) by collecting updates from owners and ensuring materials are current and accessible.
  • Executive Readiness & Operating Meeting Cadence Coordinate Ops Review Meetings, managing timelines, inputs, material quality, and readiness across DIG, SE, CE, and MCO.
  • Advises senior Ops leaders on cross-functional tradeoffs impacting reporting, integration timing, and operational readiness.
  • Ensure KPI owners adhere to the standardized Ops Review standards, providing coordination and support as needed and ensuring materials reflect trends, drivers, risks, and actions, not just static results
  • Drive reporting readiness end‑to‑end, following up with KPI owners and BI teams to ensure completeness, consistency, and on‑time for audience pre‑reads.
  • Partner with the Director, Data Strategy, to ensure execution progress aligns with evolving strategic focus areas and executive expectations.
  • Shapes sequencing discussions affecting multiple operational domains.
  • Maintain shared collaboration spaces and action tracking and follow‑up actions to ensure continuity and accountability between review cycles.
  • Change Enablement & Adoption Coordinate related change adoption activities across Operations.
  • Partner with Operations Leadership to ensure data standards, ownership clarity, and reporting expectations are embedded into operating rhythms.
  • Support the development of training, communication, and enablement materials that reinforce data literacy and data-driven habits
