About The Position

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers. Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs. Data Cloud consisting of products across Data Analytics and Database and is one of the fastest growing areas in Google Cloud, with a portfolio of leading products in databases, data analytics, data transformation and visualization. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with stakeholder management.
  • Experience working with data analytics.
  • Experience with portfolio management.

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience running large cross-organization programs.
  • Ability to exercise technical judgment and demonstrate an understanding of infrastructure/systems.

Responsibilities

  • Set the goal and direction for multiple programs by outlining goals and objectives, evaluating and running multiple projects, organizing cross-project work within the program, and defining program controls/ governance/standards.
  • Drive consistency between cloud processes and central processes.
  • Bring visibility and strengthen communication across the teams.
  • Enable execution across multiple teams and drive delivery across the complete portfolio of cloud products and solutions.
  • Engage with engineering directors, product leaders and other Technical Program Manager (TPM) groups, to streamline processes, simplify execution, manage Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), release on time, bring tooling for efficiencies and help the teams you are engaged with in execution.
  • Lead and mentor project staff and team members.
