About The Position

Our vision for the future is based on the idea that transforming financial lives starts by giving our people the freedom to transform their own. We have a flexible work environment, and fluid career paths. We not only encourage but celebrate internal mobility. We also recognize the importance of purpose, well-being, and work-life balance. Within Empower and our communities, we work hard to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, and our associates dedicate thousands of hours to volunteering for causes that matter most to them. Chart your own path and grow your career while helping more customers achieve financial freedom. Empower Yourself. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time, including CPT/OPT. The Senior Technical Product Manager owns the vision, strategy, roadmap, and delivery of Blockchain and tokenization experimentation and incubation in the Innovation Lab. This role partners closely with senior leaders across Product, Technology, Security, Legal/Compliance, Risk, and the business to identify high-value opportunities, rapidly prototype solutions with engineering support, and mature concepts through pilots and proof-of-value evaluations. This role bridges business outcomes with technical feasibility, leads cross-functional discovery and execution, and helps build more in-house expertise and experience commercializing solutions in the tokenization and Blockchain space. The focus is on fast, responsible learning, repeatable patterns, and clear recommendations for scale, transition, or stop decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field required (or equivalent experience)
  • 7–10+ years of product management experience, preferably owning complex technical or platform products.
  • Demonstrated experience working with blockchain and/or tokenization concepts through prototyping, pilots, or early-stage productization (lab, innovation, or startup environments a plus).
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional discovery and rapid execution with engineering support, balancing speed with appropriate governance.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders across business, technology, and risk functions.
  • Solid understanding of systems architecture and cloud-native environments; ability to shape solution approaches spanning on-chain and off-chain components.
  • Familiarity with distributed ledger fundamentals (smart contracts, consensus, identity, key management concepts, privacy, interoperability) and enterprise risk considerations (auditability, controls, vendor due diligence).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate blockchain concepts into business-relevant insights, experiment plans, and decision-ready readouts.
  • Strategic thinker who balances rapid learning and delivery with longer-term commercialization pathways and practical handoffs.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own an outcome-driven incubation roadmap for Blockchain and tokenization experiments, including sequencing, dependencies, and success metrics.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to identify and shape tokenization and blockchain opportunities, hypotheses, and experiment charters.
  • Prioritize a portfolio of rapid prototypes, proofs of concept, and pilots based on value, feasibility, risk, and learning objectives.
  • Serve as a liaison between business leaders, engineering, architecture, security, and legal/compliance teams to translate needs into implementable experiment designs and prototypes.
  • Lead discovery, requirements definition, and lightweight solution design in collaboration with engineering support and platform architects.
  • Manage a lab backlog and execution cadence (planning, demos, iteration cycles, and experiment readouts) to drive rapid solutioning and measurable learning.
  • Support build vs. partner evaluations by coordinating vendor “bake-offs,” ecosystem scans, and technical assessments relevant to tokenization and blockchain capabilities.
  • Define experiment governance and controls appropriate for a lab environment, including data handling, access controls, auditability expectations, and risk reviews.
  • Establish reference architectures, reusable components, and patterns (on-chain and off-chain) that can accelerate future experiments and inform downstream teams.
  • Define, track, and communicate experiment KPIs, such as time-to-prototype, learning velocity, stakeholder readiness, feasibility, risk posture, and proof-of-value results.
  • Monitor experiment outcomes and operational signals during pilots (stability, usability, integration constraints), and drive iteration or decisioning based on findings.
  • Stay current on blockchain and tokenization trends (standards, privacy approaches, interoperability, custody/settlement models, regulatory developments) to inform the lab pipeline.
  • Produce clear recommendations and transition plans for successful concepts, including handoff artifacts (requirements, architecture, risk considerations, ROI, and operational needs) for product and engineering teams that may scale them.
  • Provide thought leadership and mentorship across the Lab and partner teams to strengthen in-house blockchain knowledge and delivery confidence.
