About the Team Team Focus: The Financial Integrations team specializes in the technical implementation of AI-driven solutions across the Workday Financials suite (GL, AR, AP, Inventory, and PSA). We don't just move data; we build intelligent automation that powers the world’s largest organizations. We use our expanding AI tooling capabilities to be more efficient and effective at delivering extensible integration solutions focused on full life-cycle development for our customers. Organizational Context: This team sits in the Services group and performs as the technical bridge between Workday’s product capabilities and our customers' complex financial ecosystems, operating across medium to large global organizations during implementations. Mission: To provide the technical "connective tissue" and AI innovation that allows our customers to realize the full value of a unified cloud architecture. About the Role Core Objective: The Sr. Integration Technical Consultant serves as the primary technical architect and lead developer for financial integration workstreams. You will balance hands-on build work (coding and configuring) with high-level advisory (guiding customers on technical strategy and AI adoption). System Interaction: You will build solutions that bridge Workday Financials with external banking, tax, and procurement ecosystems. You will ensure these technical touchpoints are created and enhanced by AI to reduce manual effort and improve data accuracy. Customer/Stakeholder Interaction: You are a key advisor to customer IT leadership. Internally, you are the technical "sparring partner" to the Financial Functional Consultants , translating their product-based business requirements into robust technical designs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of demonstrated integration or technical experience in Workday Financials or 8+ years in technical ERP (ie. SAP, Oracle, Workday, Peoplesoft) domains like General Ledger (GL), Banking, Expenses, Accounts Payables (AP) , Accounts Receivables (AR), Contracts, Projects or Inventory.
  • 5+ years of experience in Architecture, Design, and Build of integration solutions using technical integration tooling.
  • 4+ years of experience consulting as an Advisory Lead or Architect on large-scale customer implementations.
  • Hands-on experience with REST APIs and modern authentication/authorization (OAuth, OIDC, SAML).
  • Proficiency in at least one relevant programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, SQL).
  • AI Fluency: Familiarity with AI concepts, including LLM integration and agentic workflow design.
  • End-to-End Solution Architecture: Ability to design complex financial integrations from high-level discovery through to deep technical implementation.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable reading/writing code, debugging, and working in code-based configurations (XSLT, SQL or Python).
  • Consultative Communication: Ability to drive alignment through early and frequent collaboration with stakeholders to ensure customer success.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and comfort navigating complex financial landscapes and evolving technology stacks.
  • Ability to think beyond point-to-point solutions and build reusable assets, libraries, and scalable frameworks.
  • Project Leadership: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
  • Ownership: A "driver" mentality—managing the technical deliverables from discovery through to "Go Live."
  • Strategic Influence: Ability to advise customers on why a certain technical approach (like AI-based automation) is superior to traditional methods.
  • Collaborative Mindset: A track record of working effectively with Product and Customer teams and a genuine willingness to mentor others.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive technical knowledge of JSON, API governance, and Middleware technology.
  • Experience with AI product and platforms e.g., Sana, Flowise, Claude, or similar) and designing/implementing LLM-based applications or orchestration frameworks.
  • Experience with data platforms or ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems (MIS) or similar information technology degrees .
  • Relevant Certifications: Workday Financials Core, or AI-related PaaS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery sessions with financial domain specialists to assemble requirements and deliver accurate technical documentation.
  • Architect and build Architect scalable PaaS solutions and integration designs that adhere to best practices and are optimized for high-volume financial transaction processing.
  • Hands-on Development: Design, build, and document high-complexity integrations using the latest Workday tooling and AI capabilities as they evolve.
  • AI Implementation: Design and deploy secure AI-driven workflows and agentic designs, ensuring strict adherence to financial data governance and PII security standards.
  • Coordinate assigned deliverable schedules to ensure client timelines are met while providing expert guidance on integration strategy.
  • Explain complex AI and integration concepts in simple terms to both technical developers and non-technical finance stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach junior consultants, proactively sharing knowledge on financial integration design patterns and best practices.
  • Engage in the sales cycle where appropriate to help scope complex financial integration projects.
