A proactive, technical leadership role supporting distribution center production, focusing on maximizing IT systems reliability and operational performance. Overall site responsibility for stability and technology services within the distribution center based in Chicago, Illinois. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong technical aptitude and skills including network, server, telephone, and desktop experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of operations hardware and applications
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage vendor partners
  • Strong reasoning, troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to adjust working hours and be on-call for escalations on a 24/7 basis.
  • Ability to support other sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations - Overall responsibility for distribution center data center operations and IT systems functions being accomplished daily. Manage vendor resource and workflow to ensure technology service initiatives are supported and service level agreements are met. Monitor and respond to system alerts, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business impact.
  • New Site Activation (as needed) - Agility in navigating unstructured environments and solving problems in real time. Strong cross-functional collaboration, adaptability, and the ability to lead through change.
  • Data Center Management - Ensure the distribution center data centers are maintained to predefined standards (prototype and best practice). Manage all technology system infrastructure within the distribution center. Understand different technology system platforms, applications, hardware and infrastructure and how they interact with and impact the distribution center. Lead preventative maintenance routines and environmental monitoring to ensure system health and uptime.
  • Vendor Management / Escalation - Provide appropriate feedback and take follow-up actions to ensure Vendor SLAs are met. Provide necessary training and onboarding for vendor technicians servicing the distribution center. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to support change management and incident resolution.
  • Strategic & Technical Leadership -Serve as the local point of contact for infrastructure projects, change coordination, and incident management. Drive continuous improvement through Kanban initiatives and proactive engagement with product teams. Maintain a development plan and pursue ongoing technical and leadership growth.
