About The Position

This role owns the technical and commercial development of complex Protection & Control proposal, from bid strategy through contract negotiation, ensuring commitments are sound, risks are understood, and projects are positioned to win and execute successfully. The position plays a critical role in meeting service, quality, and delivery objectives, operating within commercial policy while exercising independent judgment on scope, pricing, and risk. With defined autonomy, the role is accountable for entering and executing commercial arrangements and making high‑impact decisions within established budgets and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years experience with Protection and Control philosophies, schemes, and standards
  • Minimum of 5 years experience of CSA, ANSI, IEC and IEEE standards
  • Exposure to one or more of the following: local area networks, communication schemes, platforms, and protocols used to provide local and remote interrogation with substation relays, meters, fault recorders, and other intelligent electronic devices (IEDs), with a minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with substation network communication protocols and configuration (DNP3 and IEC61850)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Protection relays including application, settings and configuration (as knowledge of SEL, Siemens and/or ABB protection relays)
  • Knowledge and experience with CSA, ANSI, IEC and IEEE standards
  • Knowledge of Microgrids, PMCS, EMS, SCADA
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security in the electrification realm
  • Familiarity with Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) rules
  • Ability to work in a team environment positively influences others and develops strong internal and external relationships.
  • Capable of generating network architecture and panel layout drawings with Visio/Acad.
  • Capable of generating protection single line diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full technical bid process — from analyzing customer inquiries, RFQs, and tenders to determining proposal requirements, scope of supply, and winning equipment configurations.
  • Lead the matrix technical team across Application Engineering, EHS, Product Engineering, and the Renewables product line.
  • Analyze technical specifications and documentation to develop optimum protection and control system solutions, ensuring all technical submissions are complete, compliant, and delivered on time.
  • Manage pre- and post-bid clarifications proactively, ensuring questions are raised early and all responses are tracked and addressed before submission deadlines.
  • Ensure subcontract inquiry packages are complete and subcontract offers are secured well ahead of bid submission.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost estimates to the Proposals Manager, incorporating a thorough risk and opportunity (R&O) assessment, mitigation strategies, and appropriate contingency allowances.
  • Bring strong commercial awareness and cross-functional knowledge to influence sales strategy across your territory, assess information critically, and recommend solutions that go beyond
