About The Position

biBerk is building a cloud-first, API driven, dynamic insurance platform that enables customers to purchase insurance policies directly online. Expanding our team, we are adding experienced software innovators to enhance our development efforts. This role combines technical expertise with leadership skills. Developers in this position will serve as the lead of a full-stack development team with a focus on designing and implementing Angular and .NET solutions, supporting multiple domains across the platform. Success in this role relies on close coordination with backend teams to align Angular UI development with business logic exposed via RESTful APIs. This leader will coordinate day-to-day activities, assist team members in overcoming roadblocks, and guide planning sessions. This role requires close collaboration with multiple product teams to ensure that UI solutions meet business objectives across diverse areas. They will also serve as individual contributors on the dev team, taking on tasks for both technical design and development. This is a hybrid-remote role that currently requires 2 days of in-office work per month in Pittston, PA.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years development experience focused on Angular (versions 12+)
  • Deep understanding of Angular architecture including advanced routing, state management NgRx, RxJS, and performance optimization
  • Proven experience with TypeScript, including advanced types, generics, and modern ES features
  • Strong knowledge of component architecture patterns (smart/presentational components, feature-based structures)
  • Experience with modern build tools and monorepo architectures (Nx, Webpack, etc.)
  • Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining shared Angular component libraries
  • Understanding of library versioning, semantic versioning, and dependency management
  • Knowledge of public API design for reusable components with proper input/output contracts
  • Experience with component documentation strategies (Storybook, Compodoc, or similar)
  • Familiarity with library packaging and distribution (ng-packagr, npm publishing)
  • Ability to create flexible, configurable components that work across multiple applications
  • Understanding of theming strategies and CSS architecture for shared components
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science/related field or equivalent working experience
  • 10+ years of experience as a software developer, with deep experience in C#, .NET and Angular
  • Excellent programming, debugging, and troubleshooting skills with C#, .NET and Agular
  • 3+ years of experience leading development teams
  • Enterprise level system architecture experience, designing and delivering RESTful APIs, integrations, and complex business processes
  • Enterprise level design and configuration of cloud services including serverless, data storage, messaging, logging, etc., preferably with Azure
  • Experience with design and implementation of both monolithic and microservice architectures
  • Experience designing reliable and performant data storage solutions and schemas utilizing cloud technologies including SQL DBs, Document DBs, and unstructured data
  • Experience with creating CI/CD pipelines supporting Infrastructure as Code (IAC)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, collaboration capabilities, and attention to detail
  • Experience working on large software development projects while collaborating across multiple agile teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross functional, agile development team including members from development, quality assurance, and business analysts
  • Serve as technical SME for a particular domain within the overall platform
  • Provide guidance and mentoring including pair programming, code reviews, demos, group/1:1 coaching, and career development planning
  • Design system features to meet business objectives while fitting into the enterprise platform ecosystem
  • Contribute to cross-team platform design decisions
  • Collaborate with Product team to ensure that requirements are understood, and short-term and long-term business objectives are met
  • Follow department-wide technical, process, and quality standards while contributing to their improvement
  • Participate in staffing decisions including interviews and hiring
  • Take a lead role in creating technical documentation and content, ensuring that knowledge is transferred across the team
  • Day to day code contributions to our repo completing user stories/tasks
  • Guide the team regarding unit testing; collaborate closely with QA leadership to guarantee successful functional and regression testing of all features
  • Ensure that the team achieves system performance goals
  • Lead the dev team to think with a security first mindset
  • Take ownership of problems and solutions, being proactive to ensure success
  • Provide innovative problem-solving skills, thinking outside the box
  • Occasional travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton PA area for strategy meetings (several times per year)
  • Normal working hours based on Eastern US time
