Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree (MBA/MST) preferred
  • 3-5 years of tax experience in either public accounting or industry
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • Foundational knowledge of Federal and state tax regulations
  • High attention to detail, delivering quality work with a positive attitude
  • Foundational corporate and/or partnership technical tax knowledge
  • Excellent analytical, proactive communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Effectively manage tasks and strict deadlines with independence
  • High level of initiative and comfort working autonomously
  • Ability to interact with colleagues in a self-managed team structure
  • Ability to interact with external parties and vendors with confidence and clarity as a representative of the organization
  • Proficient in progressing multiple priorities and planning handoffs and workload proactively
  • Adept at maintaining and continuously improving processes within a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and other PC based programs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare US GAAP/IFRS income tax provision calculations including current and deferred taxes
  • Prepare quarterly US Federal and state corporate income tax estimates
  • Prepare and provide information to external tax preparers, including general ledger data, fixed asset data and state apportionment
  • Work with business partners and external providers to gather information for tax filings
  • Assist with processing tax returns and tax payments in a timely manner
  • Maintain internal tax compliance reporting system and prepare reporting of internal tax metrics
  • Assist with resolution of tax notices and questions from business partners
  • Prepare withholding tax documentation for US and Canadian tax filings
  • Assist with Canadian tax compliance matters, including preparation of monthly estimated payments
  • Prepare indirect tax filings as needed coordinated with the finance department
  • Maintain tax documents to substantiate tax filings, tax positions and transfer pricing
  • Provide support and analysis for tax audits, planning and research projects
