Primary Role Responsible for all income tax matters including tax provisions/external reporting, compliance, and audits. Responsible for assisting in providing information pertaining to regional regulatory proceedings. Be the formal owner of all the income tax subjects for the assigned regions (POC).

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently to complete assignments
  • Familiarity of various tax soft ware’s (OIT, CCH, CHECKPOINT)
  • Knowledge of ASC 740, FIN 48, and ASC 980
  • Knowledge of GAAP, taxation regulations, and company policies.
  • Intermediate experience with tax research for day-to-day tax issues.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft AX Dynamics, Oracles, SAP, or other ERP soft ware preferred
  • Prior experience in the utility-shared service industry or consolidated corporation is preferred.
  • Excellent skills in time management, organizational, analytical, problem solving, written & verbal communication.
  • Advance level knowledge of MS Office
  • Bachelor's Degree in an accounting related field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in Tax Compliance and Tax Accounting.
  • Prior experience in a utility/regulated industry desired.
  • Prior experience in a multi -subsidiary environment required
  • Active State Driver's License requred with the ability to pass a motor vehicle report.

Nice To Haves

  • PowerTax and PowerTax Provision is a plus.
  • CPA Certification and/or master’s degree in tax preferred.
  • Big 4 Experience is a plus
  • CPA Preferred or on track to gaining CPA

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and Review monthly, quarterly and annual Income tax Provisions and tax notes to the financial statements for the region.
  • Preparation of the U.S. federal and state income tax returns, estimated payments and extensions.
  • Prepare quarterly reconciliations for taxes payable and deferred tax.
  • Respond to federal and state audit requests.
  • Perform research in various income tax related subjects and summarize findings for review
  • Responsible for ensuring timely fi ling of the regional regulatory proceedings
  • Responsible for the income tax related subjects for the assigned regions
  • Assist in the preparation of the tax forecast and communicate results to the budgeting team.
