About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to support a modern public accounting firm operating in a fully remote environment. This is not a traditional compliance-only role. The firm is looking for a strategic tax professional who can review returns, identify risk areas, improve processes, and contribute to tax planning initiatives. This opportunity is ideal for a strong Senior Tax Accountant or Tax Supervisor who wants greater autonomy, impact, and involvement in operational improvement—without being limited to a large corporate structure.

Requirements

5–7+ years of public accounting tax experience
Strong hands-on experience with UltraTax (Thomson Reuters)
Solid working knowledge of QuickBooks
Proven experience reviewing tax returns, not just preparing them
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently in a remote, process-driven environment
Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Excellent communication skills and client-facing confidence

Nice To Haves

CPA license or CPA eligibility
Experience working with offshore or distributed teams
Background in small to mid-sized public accounting firms

Responsibilities

Review Individual (1040), Partnership (1065), S-Corporation (1120S), and Corporate (1120) tax returns prepared by support staff
Identify technical errors, compliance risks, and missed tax planning opportunities
Proactively recommend tax strategies and planning solutions
Improve internal review workflows and operational processes
Provide guidance and feedback to remote and offshore team members
Communicate directly with clients regarding complex tax matters
Review and adjust QuickBooks financials to ensure tax readiness
Assist in refining systems to improve turnaround time and reporting accuracy
