About The Position

Under moderate direction, coordinates the full life cycle of local recruiting for both hourly and exempt leadership positions to include relationship management with hiring managers, requisition assignment, defining the sourcing strategy, building pipelines, administering the candidate process through an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), determining appropriate salary and benefits offerings, extending offers and finalizing start date. Responsible for meeting requisition cycle time and plant vacancy rate KPI’s. Takes an active role in NA Talent Acquisition projects. Acts as a mentor to less experienced professionals.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, management, organizational management or related field and 2-5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, with specific awareness of employment laws relating to the employment of foreign nationals
  • Strong knowledge/understanding of professional and college recruiting best practices and current industry trends
  • Proven ability to foster and maintain relationships with an ability to work as part of a cross functional team
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills, with an ability to gather and analyze data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills. Ability to communicate with internal and external customers on issues of moderate to considerable importance, up to and including senior management
  • Strong customer service skills. Ability to promote and support a service-oriented environment
  • Good negotiation skills. Ability to defend position strongly while keenly aware of the need to maximize benefits for all sides
  • Basic project management skills, including identifying and scheduling process steps, determining resources and staff required to successfully complete assigned projects or project steps and reporting on project milestones
  • Ability to transfer knowledge to less experienced specialists
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to apply process improvement planning and checking to own work output and to assist others with identifying gaps in work results

Responsibilities

  • Recruits for both hourly and exempt positions for Athens, Tennessee location. Strives to maintain vacancy rate KPI’s and retention during initial employment period.
  • Administers the candidate process through an Applicant Tracking System, including creating the job posting, sourcing candidates, organizes and may participate in initial interviews, follows up with hiring managers on requisition status, recommending appropriate salary and benefits offerings, extending offers and finalizing start dates. Provides suggestions on process and/or systems improvements.
  • Applies job movement policies to support internal plant transfers and promotions.
  • Arranges for pre-employment screening exams, including background, physical and drug screenings, etc. Adheres to service levels from current vendor and escalates vendor issue to Manager.
  • Partners with existing inhouse temporary plant vendor to facilitate pipeline for contract conversion hiring.
  • Networks within the community and attends high school, college and technical school events.
  • Communicates regularly with plant leadership to understand future hiring volumes.
  • Completes multiple tasks as part of Talent Acquisition projects as needed.
  • Makes suggestions toward and supports improvement of processes and policies for recruiting.
  • Acts as a mentor to less experienced professionals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
