The selected candidate will join a skilled ME team working in a 24/7 operations environment. Availability to work overtime, non-scheduled call-in working a combination of day staff and shift schedules, assigned based on the dynamic needs of the team. The ME team is responsible for all aspects of Operations Planning and Command and Control, including monitoring day-to-day activities as well as identifying and solving challenging problems as they occur. After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be part of a certified team of subject matter experts that are integral to our customer's success. Location: Near Springfield, Virginia

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior related engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with training and certify in operational position.
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience Working in a virtual team environment
  • Experience and proficient use of both Windows and UNIX platforms
  • Experience with Perl, Python, VBA, and/or other scripting languages
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office suite

Responsibilities

  • Create and/or implement a daily operations plan using complex software and hardware systems; apply command and control tasks and activities.
  • Obtain/maintain technical knowledge of a large repository of formal procedures with the responsibility to accurately select and apply the correct procedure(s) depending on the specific scenario at hand.
  • Obtain/apply technical knowledge on various hardware subsystems.
  • Document discrepancies as they occur. Implement workarounds and contingency plans to minimize impacts of system anomalies.
  • Contribute to the testing, readiness, training, and implementation of new ground software deliveries.
  • Cross-train in other operator positions as assigned and assist with training of other personnel on the contract team.
  • Lead interactions and support all missions to include the initialization of new missions
  • Work program level priorities to implement process improvements relevant to the mission supported.
  • Periodic travel required to interact personnel from various sites and factories.
  • Work in an adaptable small team environment (3-7 people)
