The Advanced Airborne RF Sensors department within the Space and Airborne Systems Engineering and Test Capability (SE&TC) Center is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in North Texas. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in the integration, testing, and verification of advanced hardware and software systems. You will ensure our products meet customer requirements and perform to expectations, from initial development through deployment and post-deployment support. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to collaborate across disciplines, solve complex challenges, and contribute to cutting-edge aerospace and defense technologies. This is an Onsite role in McKinney, TX.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience in airborne and/or space EO/IR system test
  • Perform integration, verification, and validation testing, as well as support product transition to production.
  • Experience with integrating firmware, software, and hardware, as well as programming in LABVIEW and/or MATLAB.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in test methodology within sensors to include optical performance, analysis, and test verification for EO/IR Focal Plane Array sensor systems and/or relatable experience in development and/or production program
  • Develop and, or execute factory test plans, procedures, and equipment to support an EO/IR Focal Plane Array sensor system and ROICs
  • ROIC wafer probing, fabrication, integration, verification, and validation for a complex EO/IR system.
  • Document and present technical information clearly and effectively to Test Management, IPT leaders, hardware and software development engineers, specialty engineers, program managers, and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, integrate, and flight-test radar mode requirements across the product lifecycle.
  • Create and execute test plans and procedures, evaluate system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in preparation for final system sell-off to the customer.
  • Support production, system deployment, and post-deployment activities, ensuring product performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate across hardware and software disciplines to identify and implement solutions to complex system challenges.
  • Engage in Digital Transformation (DTx) efforts, leveraging methods and enabling technologies such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile product development practices.
  • Analyze system performance through lab and field testing, measuring results, and ensuring product reliability in real-world scenarios.
  • Work alongside teams of engineers to support integration and testing efforts, ensuring seamless functionality of system components.
  • Utilize laboratory equipment, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, and digital voltmeters.
