About The Position

Senior Systems Engineer Design, test, deliver, support, and maintain Thomson Reuters’ operating systems and networks. About the Role In this opportunity as Senior Systems Engineer, you will: 1. Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and servers for our on-prem infrastructure; 2. Implement and monitor security measures, including patch management; 3. Monitor system performance, and ensure reliability and availability; 4. Support application deployment and infrastructure needs in collaboration with the development and IT teams; 5. Maintain system configuration, procedure, and policy documentation; 6. Determine Thomson Reuters’ network and operating system needs, and provide skilled technical support and delivery capability for current and future design, testing, delivery, support, and maintenance of production services in a technical operations environment; 7. Based on Thomson Reuters’ network and operating system needs, provide technical and procedural consistency within a team focused on the implementation, service delivery, and support of products, systems, and networks; 8. Contribute to initiatives for driving down incident rates, and work with operations engineers to improve service recovery times; 9. Adhere to the implementation process to ensure that all aspects of operability are delivered while ensuring that existing service levels are maintained or improved; 10. Define operational standards, procedures, and best practices; 11. Ensure ongoing service delivery and support is maintained to agreed service levels in close collaboration with various operational, project, development, and product teams as well within the Service Organization. About You You're a fit for the role of Senior Systems Engineer if your background includes: A Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline and 2 years of post-baccalaureate experience in a network and computer systems administrator-related occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline followed by 5 years of post-baccalaureate experience in a network and computer systems administrator-related occupation. Experience must include the following, which may have been gained concurrently: 1) 2 years of experience in Linux systems administration with remote management of Linux systems located in global datacenters; 2) 2 years of experience recovering incidents, implementing changes, and participating in strategic projects; 3) 2 years of experience in system upgrades, including firmware, OS, application, and security patch evaluation and deployment; 4) 2 years of experience working on multiple projects involving data center consolidation, migration, optimization, and consolidation; 5) 2 years of experience resolving system performance issues and complex problems by performing root cause analysis; 6) 2 years of experience coordinating with hardware vendors on hardware-related issues, providing support for and assisting other groups in problem resolution; 7) 2 years of experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions and tools, including clustering and load balancing; 8) 2 years of experience in an ITIL compliant environment, working with change control, incident mitigation, and knowledge and problem management processes. Requirements

Responsibilities
