About The Position

The Senior Systems Engineer is a key member of the Platform Services Team, responsible for designing, operating, securing, and sustaining enterprise infrastructure platforms. This role is highly hands-on and execution-focused, providing deep technical expertise across Linux and Windows systems, networking, storage, automation, monitoring, patching, and security-aligned operations. The Senior Systems Engineer serves as an infrastructure Subject Matter Expert (SME), supporting both modern and legacy platforms, enabling secure and compliant operations, and playing a critical role in system and infrastructure integrations. The role works closely with Security, SOC, InfoSec, Network, Cloud, Application, and Audit teams to ensure platforms meet enterprise standards for reliability, scalability, and security. Requirements

  • 7–10 years of infrastructure engineering experience, including 5–7 years in Linux/Windows systems engineering, patching, and troubleshooting, plus 2–3+ years in automation, monitoring, and secure connectivity.
  • Deep expertise with Windows Server, Windows Workstations, Active Directory, SCCM/BigFix, and enterprise patch management.
  • Skilled with FortiGate firewalls, secure connectivity, core networking fundamentals in hybrid and on premise environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with automation and monitoring platforms such as Ansible, Puppet, LogicMonitor, and SolarWinds.
  • Background in security, compliance, audit support, and remediation activities, with strong documentation and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, OCI, etc.) is preferred
  • Experience with enterprise storage platforms is preferred
  • Knowledge of security hardening standards (CIS, NIST, etc.) is preferred
  • Scripting experience (Bash, PowerShell, Python) is preferred
  • Experience supporting regulated or large-scale enterprise environments is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to enterprise Platform Services by building, operating, and maintaining core infrastructure across compute, storage, OS, and connectivity in hybrid and on‑prem environments.
  • Administering and hardening Linux (multiple distros) and Windows environments, performing advanced OS troubleshooting, patching, kernel updates, and adherence to security baselines.
  • Executing enterprise patch management for servers and workstations using SCCM, BigFix, and similar tools, ensuring compliance with SLAs and vulnerability‑remediation standards.
  • Managing identity and directory services including Active Directory, Group Policy, workstation lifecycle, and full server lifecycle from provisioning through decommissioning.
  • Supporting enterprise networking and secure connectivity, including DNS, DHCP, routing, VPNs, FortiGate firewalls, and performance/latency diagnostics.
  • Implementing automation and configuration management via Ansible, Puppet, and scripting to drive standardized, repeatable platform builds and operational efficiencies.
  • Operating and enhancing monitoring and observability platforms (LogicMonitor, SolarWinds) while leading incident response, root‑cause analysis, and production stability efforts.
  • Partnering with Security, SOC, and audit teams on hardening, vulnerability remediation, compliance evidence, and alignment to frameworks such as CIS and NIST.
  • Maintaining thorough documentation, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and providing knowledge transfer while collaborating across infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams.
  • Supporting M&A integrations, legacy‑platform stabilization, coexistence strategies, and vendor/partner engagements to ensure alignment with Platform Services standards.
  • Building, operating, and maintaining enterprise infrastructure across compute, storage, operating systems, and secure connectivity.
  • Administering, hardening, and lifecycle‑managing Linux/Windows systems, including patching, identity services, and configuration standards.
  • Supporting networking and security services—firewalls, DNS/DHCP, VPNs—while troubleshooting performance, access, and availability issues.
  • Implementing automation, monitoring, and incident response, collaborating with Security, SOC, Network, Cloud, and vendor partners to ensure platform reliability and compliance.
