Join our mission as our next Senior Systems Engineer supporting instrument development. This hands-on Senior Systems Engineer provides technical leadership and accountability for the development, integration, and optimization of complex diagnostic systems. The role includes significant time in the laboratory working closely with engineers, scientists, and cross-functional partners to investigate, design, and resolve system-level technical challenges. This position will be working onsite in San Diego, Ca – Summers Ridge campus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5–7 years (BS), 3–5 years (MS), or PhD with 0–2 years of experience
  • Experience and training in a specific discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, Fluidics or SW engineering.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • This position is not currently eligible for visa sponsorship.

  • Experience working on a complex integrated system

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to, plans, and implements solutions to technical problems related to new designs, equipment, and process development
  • Applies extensive technical expertise across instrument design, consumable design, system design and systems integration of point of care diagnostic systems.
  • Ensures accurate documentation of system requirements, data, and decisions
  • Provides solutions to complex system-level technical problems
  • Improves development cycle time and data quality aligned to company objectives
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to define, decompose, verify, and validate system requirements
  • Supports design control, risk management, and traceability activities
  • Interfaces with manufacturing partners for effective system transfer
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
