Our Connected Aviation group is thrilled to offer a Senior Systems Engineer role within our Air Traffic Solutions (ATS) team in Marlborough, MA. As part of the ATS team, you'll be instrumental in developing the next generation of the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) and supporting our existing fielded systems. What You Will Do: You will work on the cutting-edge STARS air traffic control system, the backbone of air traffic management in the United States. You will join a dynamic systems engineering team dedicated to modernizing the STARS system under an exciting new contract. You will drive innovation by developing creative solutions to customer challenges and developing subsystem, hardware and software requirements documentation. You will play a key role in verifying these requirements by supporting integration and test as well as verification test planning and conduct. Systems Engineering supports all parts of the STARS program. A typical system engineer will have responsibilities in one or more of the following: Help lead cybersecurity development activities including coordination with our customers Develop requirements and prototype software with direct impact on modernizing air traffic control across the country. Develop Artificial Intelligence solutions to assist our customers and engineering team. Strengthen our test environment by creating world class automated test tools. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced members of the team. Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in software/systems engineering, with expertise in requirements decomposition, flow-down, and verification.
  • Must have prior experience with IBM DOORS, Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have experience generating technical documentation and preparing and facilitating briefings with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • U.S. citizenship is required - Only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts.
  • Must be willing to obtain FAA clearance: Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting a US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) government contract.
  • Prior experience in Air Traffic Control or Airspace/Aircraft Services
  • Prior experience with cybersecurity auditing and response management
  • Prior experience with Red Hat Linux 9.x.
  • Prior experience with integration and test best practices.
  • Prior experience in the use of AI to improve the product lifecycle
  • Previous work in defining, decomposition and verification approach of requirements through specification release
  • Hands on integration and test experience including automated test
