About The Position

Senior Systems Engineer – Integrated Flight Deck Systems (System Development & Integration) Location: Phoenix, AZ (Deer Valley) Work Type: Remote Team: Control Systems Center of Excellence (CS CoE) Join a team that’s shaping the future of aviation! At our Control Systems Center of Excellence, we design and develop cutting-edge avionics for air transport, regional, and business aircraft. We’re looking for a Senior Systems Engineer who thrives on solving complex challenges and wants to make an impact in the next generation of flight deck systems. What You’ll Do As part of our dynamic systems engineering team, you’ll play a key role in requirements development, integration, and validation for advanced display systems. Your work will directly influence the performance and safety of modern aircraft. Your responsibilities will include: Translating customer needs into clear, actionable system requirements. Designing and analyzing system-level requirements for hardware and software. Developing and maintaining system software requirements. Collaborating with software development and verification teams. Troubleshooting and resolving integration issues across hardware and software. Coordinating with flight control system interfaces. Supporting hardware/software checkout and system bench development. Investigating and resolving integration challenges and customer-reported issues. Driving enhancements and continuous improvement for Gulfstream and other programs. You’ll work closely with customers, certification agencies, suppliers, and global engineering teams—so strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years in avionics or display systems development and analysis.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (due to export control requirements).
  • Systems engineering experience with display systems.
  • Strong background in defining and analyzing system-level requirements.
  • Hands-on experience resolving hardware/software integration issues.
  • Familiarity with tools like multimeters, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Aerospace or Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
  • Knowledge of avionics certification standards.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems within schedule and budget.
  • Integration and test experience in lab or flight environments.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (ClearCase/ClearQuest).
  • Background in debugging/testing avionics systems using simulation or hardware-in-loop environments.
