A strong preference will be given to individuals with experience in semiconductor technology and/or acoustics. The individual is expected to be a critical thinker who can use data and measurements to make effective product-level decisions.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering or related (eg. Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics).
  • Demonstrated experience in semiconductor fabrication processes (CMOS, MEMS) and high-level device circuitry.
  • Comfortable working across a range of audio and semiconductor characterization techniques and equipment (eg. micro-probing, parametric analyzers, oscilloscopes, Audio Precision analyzers, SEM, OBIRCH).
  • Strong background in data analysis, data quality, statistics, and design of experiments.
  • Fluency in scripting/programming languages, specifically Python and SQL.

Nice To Haves

  • Other nice to haves include R, JMP, and MATLAB.
  • Background and understanding of audio devices, circuits, and methodology is a strong plus.
  • Background and understanding of data science techniques, data structures, database design and implementation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain product development schedule, coordinate and drive engineering deliverables across multi functional/global engineering team
  • Support backend product development of new product introductions, ensuring smooth ramp and execution from design and prototypes to mass production
  • Responsible for the design, modelling and verification of the electro-acoustic performance of the MEMS microphone
  • Guide failure analysis activities to determine root cause of complex system-level issues arising from reliability, qualification, and customer returns.
  • Pre-silicon: understand product features and design targets, ensure robust characterization and qualification plans, align on test requirements.
  • Post-silicon: lead system-level evaluation and debug, communicate risks, develop and manage statistical DoEs, make product-level data-driven decisions, interface with component team PEs (ASIC, MEMS).
  • Work across a global team to drive quality and yield, while ensuring robust and smooth qualification plans with defined success criteria.
  • Lead development of new analytical techniques and influence team members to become a more data-driven organization.
  • Define data structures and storage, evaluate data quality, and perform appropriate data analyses using software such as Python, JMP, R, Python or MATLAB.
